Every year my family like to take a trip somewhere in the UK
to spend a week together and get back to nature a bit. Our trip this year was
to north Norfolk which a beautiful un-spoilt part of the world. It was about a 3
hour drive from South London and we arrived by driving through a rape field
which was a sea of gold. Out of nowhere the safari tents appeared, lined up
perfectly in a row. We stayed at Wild Luxury – The Hideaway and had 2 safari
tents. Each of the tents slept 6 and had
a toilet and shower at the back.
I dumped my bags and headed straight out to the deck,
grabbed a cider and settled down in the sunshine with my book. Most evenings
were spent like this as we were incredibly lucky with the weather, we would all
gather round the fire pits and chat into the night.
There are plenty of things to see and do in Norfolk but my
highlight of the trip was taking a boat out to see the seals at Blakeney Point.
It was a really magical experience and my little cousins were so excited they
nearly fell out the boat several times!
Another lovely spot to visit is Sheringham, it’s a properly
quaint English seaside town with fish and chips galore. We caught the steam train from Holt to get there which I was so excited by I forgot to take any photos!
I had been to this stretch of coastline before and completely fell in love with Holkham, it is the most beautiful expanse of sand where you can walk for miles and not see a single person. At the junction to the beach is a lovely pub called The Victoria Inn, a great spot to enjoy a cold cider after a walk.

The week went by in a flurry of collecting eggs, paddling, running around with the kids and just enjoying being outdoors away from the city.
